About Darrell Sundell, MBA, ACAS, CFCM, CPCM – Government Contracting Specialist
Darrell Sundell has over 35 years of business and contracting experience. He has served as a planning and control manager for a medium sized wood products manufacturer. As an entrepreneur he has started, grown and sold multiple successful small businesses. Before joining Green River College in 2015, Darrell served the clients of the William Factory Small Business Incubator (WFSBI) as a business adviser, procurement counselor and project management specialist. He has provided business consulting, coaching, and advisory services to local businesses and to other consultants throughout the US.
Darrell has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Washington State University; he is certified as an Associate Contracting Assistance Specialist (ACAS) by the national Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC); he is an approved trainer for the Federal Contractor Certification (FCC) program sponsored by APTAC; he is a certified Verification Counselor, by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs; and he has earned the designations of Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) and Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) from the National Contract Management Association.

Kristin Travis has spent nearly a decade as a small business advocate and advisor. She is a recent Seattle transplant who hails from Chicago, IL and has counseled hundreds of small businesses in the area of government contracting through her previous employer – Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC Chicago). Prior to joining Green River College, she planned and coordinated some of the nation’s most prestigious corporate and government business matchmakers to include – the Enterprising Woman of the Year Matchmaking Event, with Enterprising Women and Office Depot (Boca Raton, FL), and the WBDC Chicago Entrepreneurial Women’s Conference – Contract Connections Program (Chicago, IL). In addition to these events, she helped set the framework for the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Matchmaker (Baltimore, MD). She was a graduate of the Chicago Women’s Foundation Advocacy Academy Program and a Co-Chair of the Chicago Procurement Compliance Forum both of which focused on encouraging policy and legislative change to increase economic empowerment opportunities for local women-owned businesses. Ms. Travis has a particular niche in women-, minority-, and veteran-owned business assistance programs to include small business certifications, initiatives, and opportunities set aside to grow these businesses. Ms. Travis is a certified Verification Counselor by the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, member of the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC), an avid hiker, as well as Certified Doula and Owner of BEarthmate Doula Services (www.BEarthmate.com).
