Washington PTAC’s Tiffany Scroggs Receives Prestigious Fellow Award

Indianapolis, Indiana  April 12, 2022 – The Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC) is pleased to announce that Tiffany Scroggs  Assistance Center (PTAC), has been recognized with the association’s prestigious Fellow Award.

APTAC’s Fellow Award is not given each year.  It is a special award bestowed on someone who has gone above and beyond in service to the association and its members, often working behind the scenes in a variety of capacities as needs demand, demonstrating dedication to the organization and to the Procurement Technical Assistance Program over many years.  Only 12 have been awarded since the inception of the Association.  The last award was presented in 2018.   Tiffany has been instrumental in managing APTAC’s communications to its members using newsblasts and other electronic alerts, quarterly newsletters, the APTAC website, and social media outlets.   A former APTAC President, Tiffany’s leadership is evident throughout many initiatives.  As a current member of the APTAC Board, she continues to help guide the progress of the Association. She brings new and novel ideas on training our members.  She strives for sharing best practices among the membership and is a true guru of continuous improvement for all through training, sharing, and communication

Tiffany Scroggs joined team PTAC as a counselor in 2007 and became Program Manager for the Washington PTAC in 2012. She is certified by APTAC as an Associate Contracting Assistance Counselor and is also a VA Verification Assistance Counselor. In 2014, she became Region 10 Director for APTAC.

Tiffany has a BA in Communication from Western Washington University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from The Evergreen State College. Tiffany has worked with the small business community since moving to Olympia in 2003. Tiffany enjoys playing outside with her family and is an active Rotarian.

From Michael Cade, Exec Director of the Thurston Economic Development Council in WA State:  “Since1989 I have either worked on it in a supportive administrative role, as a promoter, as a sub-center, and now in my current role at this organization.  I have seen the PTAC program in all its states and efforts – and I cannot truly express my appreciation of how Tiffany has supported the effort, guided it, participated in APTAC – and then has taken those efforts and lessons and has applied them to our state’s employers.  My Board of Directors has a great appreciation and admiration for her work.”

APTAC is the professional organization of and for the 96 Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) sponsored by the Department of Defense and local host organizations.  APTAC supports the PTACs by providing them critical updates on the ever-changing procurement processes across all federal agencies; comprehensive training opportunities and certification; and a national presence to collaborate with federal agencies on small business contracting initiatives and otherwise provide a voice in national government contracting assistance and policy arenas.

Washington PTAC provides individualized counseling and informative training seminars about timely contracting issues and the latest guidelines to help Washington businesses learn how the procurement system can work for them. The PTAC assists in: developing a government marketing strategy and identifying target agencies; finding government advertised bidding opportunities using a web-based bid-matching service that searches more than 3,000 federal, state and local sites each day; reviewing and explaining government solicitations; and completing government registrations and bid preparation by explaining forms, regulations and clauses.
